The county of Argolida, located at the northwestern part of Peloponnesus, very near to some of the most important ancient Greek cities, namely Epidavros, Argos, Tirintha and Mycenae, can easily seduce not only the lovers of nature and isolated bays, but also the lovers of Greek mythology, archeology and the Mycenaean civilization. Nafplio, Argolida˘s lovely capital with its picturesque port, is the ideal starting point on your travel to discovering Peloponnesus and the region˘s many archeological areas.

The ancient city of Nafplio is full of interesting sightseeing. Wandering around the city is a real pleasure. Just next to Nafplio there are many famous ancient cities: Tirintha, with its enormous archeological findings 4 km away on the way to Argos, Mycenae archeological monument at a distance of 13 km and the unique archeological monument of Epidavros at a distance of 30 km. Our tip is to visit those areas early in the morning before they start getting too crowded.
Do not confuse Epidavros archeological area with ˇNea Epidavros˘ and ˇPalia Epidavros˘ which are waterfront areas ideal for swimming.
Astros is a nice seaside village whereby you can enjoy a sandy beach while in the evening you may enjoy its intense nightlife.
