In the south-west of the Peloponese, the Laconian Mani is a region with very specific character, unique beauty and charm which rarely leave unmoved the traveler. Its wild regions, with high, dry mountains, the unreachable mountain sides, the deep blue waters and the particularly striking architecture give this region its particular beauty. Do not omit to do the scenic route along the coast from Aeropoli in Kardamili, one of the most beautiful scenic routes of the Peloponnese
Githio, the east gate of Mani, is the point from which a journey starts in the Laconian Mani. Walk through the old town and enjoy the fresh fish in one of the many fish tavernas on the waterfront which runs along the port.
Wonder around Areopoli, the quiet town with the stone paved roads, the small shops that offer traditional arts and crafts, the churches and the Byzantine chapels.
Visit the amazing cave of Diros, which is among the most impressive natural sites of Greece. A pleasant beach with white pebbles can also be found nearby.
Do not omit to visit Gerolimenas, a small fishing village hidden in a rocky gulf with a pebbly beach, and the magical Limeni with its beautiful blue water.
Visit the traditional renovated village Vathia and further along the sandy beach of Marmari.
Beautiful beaches can be found in Vathi and Kamares.
In all the region, you can admire the impressive towers of Mani which spring up here and there and overlook the sea on top of some savage rocks.
