Kamares, the island's main port, is located deep in a beautiful bay surrounded by mountains and a beautiful, wide sandy beach.

It is very pleasant to stroll in the evening by the water, to sit in a tavern or at a beach bar full of life, overlooking the moored yachts and boats.

The island is famous for its pottery, which owe their reputation to the excellent quality of clay in the region. Do not forget to visit the potteries on the island.
The church of St. Simeon, on top of the mountain, stands dominantly over Kamares and offers stunning panoramic views of the harbor and the sea.

Apollonia, the capital of the island, is 5 kilometers from the port, is a beautiful village surrounded by olive groves and is built as an amphitheater, overlooking the sea. Walk through the maze of streets, full of flowers with the recently whitewashed houses and Byzantine churches with blue domes that create an image reminiscent of postcards.

Nearby, you will find the village of Artemonas with its windmills and beautiful neoclassical houses with courtyards full of flowers that smell jasmine.

The island is full of beautiful picturesque little villages worth discovering, including the villages of Kastro, Faros, Cheronissos and Vathi.
