Do not miss to pay a visit to Adamantas, the main port of the island and to the church of the Saint Trinity (Agia Triada), which dates from the 17th century and is of great architectural interest full of rare artwork.
Klima is a charming seaside village full of true, vivid colors with a great architectural importance as its houses are all built just by the sea, whereby small boats anchor.
What you definitely should not miss, however, are the Catacombs located between Klima and Tripiti.
Plaka, Milos˘ capital, is a typical Cycladic village having as trade-mark its castle. Following a pathway of narrow-streets full of flowers you will get to the Castle from where you will enjoy a spectacular view, especially during the sunset. For those that haven˘t been in Louvre, there is an imitation of Aphrodite˘s sculpture in Milos˘ archeological museum, whereby they may also admire other important master-pieces of the Mycenaean era, such as the famous “Lady Philacopy”. By visiting the Folklore Museum you get a picture of the life of Milos˘ inhabitants from the 17th century onwards.
Sarakiniko, which is on the road to Pollonia, is a magnificent beach with snow-white rocks, formed in rare shapes by the wind and the water. The rocks, together with the crystal-clear blue waters make this small beach look like a moonscape.
Continuing your tour, do not miss to pay a visit at the archeological prehistoric monument of Fylakopi. A little bit further, take a dive into the navy-blue waters of ĄPapafragas Cave˘ and feel the unique experience of swimming within the cave˘s rocks.
Your visit at the north side of the island ends in Pollonia, this charming seaside village whereby you can taste the islands specialties in the cozy taverns after having plunged into the crystal-clear waters of its wonderful sandy beach. From there you can easily access, by little boats that travel regularly, the neighboring island Kimolos.
As from ancient times, Milos˘ rich mineral sources were considered as a product of exploitation: marbles and elements such as sulfur, cobalt and silver. That is the reason why in the island there are some mines and pits that somewhat may alternate in some parts the beauty of the landscape.
