Region: Cyclades Area: Syros, Finikas
Syros, the capital of the Cycladic islands, is located between Kythnos and Mykonos and is the most populous island in the Aegean Sea.
However, relatively few tourists visit it. With 96 sq. km surface, Syros is an island rich in history as evidenced by the beautiful neoclassical houses found in Ermoupolis, the capital city and its main port.
Being an island with lush vegetation and beautiful beaches, Syros is definitely worth a visit.

Ano Syros and traditional villages
The beautiful beaches and Eden-like coves
Ermoupolis, the capital of the island, has many beautiful surprises for you and its beauty and its picturesque landscape belong to another era.
It will amaze you with its neoclassical character and its important artistic and gastronomic traditions.

When the visitor reaches the island, his gaze meanders through the streets and meets higher up two hills, the Orthodox and the Catholic, and then the hill of Ano Syros, a real Cycladic village within the city.

Decorated with palm trees, the beautiful Miaoulis square with cafes and tavernas, is the most popular meeting place. It is also a beautiful example of neoclassical architecture and the Vaporia district is known as the "Venice" of Syros, as houses are built on the sea.

Heading southwest, you will find Kini, a seaside village where you can enjoy a swim in a beautiful beach while on your way the monastery of Santa Barbara is located and it offers beautiful views of the bay. A little further, Galissas is the most popular island resort stop with its very beautiful sandy beach.
